All the Memories in the World

Navigate a data center to unlock an encrypted memory, learning about the environmental and cultural impact of digital infrastructure.

About the Project

All the Memories in the World is a first-person game set in a DMSC data center ―a fictional digital infrastructure company― where you race against time to decrypt a memory before the facility locks down.

Navigate through the labyrinth of servers, discover hidden clues, and make choices that reveal the real-world environmental and social impact of our digital lives. Each interaction explores the physical reality behind the cloud: energy consumption, water usage, and the impact to the communities living alongside these facilities.

Digital infrastructure is critical infrastructure, and it's becoming more so as AI demands grow exponentially. Yet we tend to think of the internet as weightless and invisible ―the cloud is nowhere, it seems.

Cloud Infrastructure
Data Center Impact

Data centers consume large amounts of water and electricity, affect communities living nearby, shape geopolitics, and transform our relationship with cultural memory.

By placing you inside a data center, we want the invisible to become visible. By employing an interactive medium we want to encourage you to participate in shaping our digital present and future. We don't have to be passive consumers depending on big tech deals with governments.

Interactive Experience

We have the right to question who controls and benefits from this infrastructure. The game seeks to bring these issues closer to a broader audience so we can think collectively about more transparent, sovereign, and community-centered approaches to our digital lives.

Our Vision

This project is the first step toward a larger initiative working with communities across Latin America to bring visibility to data center impacts.

Although these issues might seem distant, the fact is that we depend on this infrastructure for everything: Banking, healthcare, justice systems, viral videos... Regional specificities matter, especially in Latin America where the data center industry is still young, educational resources are limited, and regulatory frameworks remain weak.
